Trying to Keep Balance

Trying to find balance is life is like standing on a surf board. If you don’t know that you are supposed to recreate your balance, you fall off. If you think the waves determine your balance, you fall off. The more practice you have determines if you fall off.
I have watched myself trying to balance three jobs, playing piano and guitar, pets and a husband this week. Sometimes, I fell off. Either I completely neglected one area and did the others or I drove myself to falling into bed flattened. I did find times to paint, but not nearly as much as I like.
Because of how much I am doing, I arrived at the weekend feeling deprived of doing artwork and beauty. I plan on using my weekend to fulfill my craving to paint.
I did notice some beauty during the week. The squash I am growing are surprisingly pretty. The brilliant yellow flowers unfold under huge, green leaves. They glow whenever the sun hits them as if they are lit up from within.
I challenge you to notice something ordinary, but surprisingly beautiful this week. Inhale deeply and take it into your heart. You will find yourself happier.
